How universities should prepare founders
Paul Graham's new essay: teach them to build, make starting a company feel possible, and get out of the way of their own projects. Not an entrepreneurship major.
YC is the grad school in this metaphor. The partners look for people who already build things. CS, mechanical engineering, molecular biology. Not a new curriculum called entrepreneurship. Two actual changes: students have to believe they can start something, and they have to be allowed to work on projects of their own.
